recommended snapshot's?

Hi,

I'm looking into using nilo for setting up an autoinstalling lab. However
I'm having problems compiling nilo, (actually OSKit, but anyway).

OSKit 990402, 990914 and release 0.97 all give the same following error:

gcc -c -o loadkernel.o -MD -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -DHPFQ -I. -I../../boot/net
-I../../
boot -I- -I../.. -I../.. -nostdinc -O2 -Wall loadkernel.c
loadkernel.c: In function `loadkernel':
loadkernel.c:112: cannot reload integer constant operand in `asm'
loadkernel.c:125: cannot reload integer constant operand in `asm'
loadkernel.c:112: cannot reload integer constant operand in `asm'
loadkernel.c:125: cannot reload integer constant operand in `asm'
loadkernel.c:112: cannot reload integer constant operand in `asm'
loadkernel.c:125: cannot reload integer constant operand in `asm'
make[1]: *** [loadkernel.o] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/paul/nilo/oskit-0.97/boot/net'

i've tried with binutils binutils-2.8.1.0.1 (from Redhat 5) and
binutils-2.9.1.0.23 (from RH6.1), both give same error.

The OSKit binary/header package from nilo.org doesn't seem to work with
either nilo-991002, 990831, or 990814. Earlier nilo snapshots can't find the
oskit version header, and the latest can't find the libraries, no matter
which directory in oskit-bin i point it at.

So, my question is, (and the reason for the crosspost):

a) how do i get oskit to compile?
or else
b) is there a known combination of nilo/oskit snapshots which are known to
work?

thanks in advance,
