hi

if you're into a small os project you could try bochs, (renamed(?) plex86
http://plex86.org). its small and its pretty easy to get going, and gives
a fast compile-->run-->debug cycle. but it's only a pentium emulator, so
if you're into sophisticated os'ing, you might be better off with vmware.
